## Why it lasted
- It made the browser fast, then made the browser into an OS, then made the web into Chrome.
- Default distribution on Android plus 'download Chrome' as a reflex.
- Chromium is the engine other browsers rent. That is an empire.

## Near deaths
- Firefox had the moral high ground. Safari had the devices. Chrome had the speed and the Google account.
- Antitrust could force a sale of the engine. That is the only adult threat.

## What would finish it
- A court-ordered split of Chromium from Google, plus Apple or a regulator making engine diversity mandatory. Watch the cases.
