2015, gamer TeamSpeak killer. Still the default clubhouse for a lot of the internet that is not at work.

## Why it lasted
- Voice that works plus a server as a home page. Games were the wedge. Everything else followed.
- It is where communities went when forums died and Facebook groups got old.

## Near deaths
- The 2021 'possible sale to Microsoft' scare. It stayed independent.
- Forum mode, Nitro inflation, and discovery features keep threatening to make it look like everywhere else.

## What would finish it
- A game platform (Steam, Xbox) shipping voice that is good enough, plus trust rotting among the communities that make it valuable.
