- Elephant brand recognition and a pile of old notebooks people are afraid to export.
- Bending Spoons bought it and kept the servers on.

## Near deaths
- The 2010s feature bloat and the 'our note is a startup' era. Users left for simpler apps and never came back.
- Layoffs, CEO churn, and a product that felt like a museum of 2012 defaults.

## What would finish it
- An export button that is too good, plus Notion/Apple Notes/Obsidian finishing the move. The zombie is the leftover sync.
