2002 to 2015. Before Myspace was the old social network, Friendster was.

## Why it lasted
- The first social graph a lot of people joined. Slow pages. Myspace was faster. Facebook was cleaner.

## Near deaths
- Performance was the product bug that became the cause of death. The graph moved.

## What would finish it
- Pivot to gaming in Asia, then shutdown. A textbook of first-mover non-advantage.
