## Why it lasted
- git push heroku main taught a generation what PaaS felt like. That memory still sells the brand.
- Salesforce ownership kept it alive as a product line after the golden age ended.

## Near deaths
- The free tier death in 2022 was the funeral people showed up to. The paying apps stayed. The love left.
- Render, Fly, Railway, Vercel: the children are nicer. Heroku is the parent in a recliner.

## What would finish it
- Salesforce sunsetting it on a slide. The zombie state is waiting for that slide.
