Taylor Otwell, 2011. Still the reason people start a PHP app on purpose.

## Why it lasted
- It made PHP feel like a modern framework again: artisan, Eloquent, the docs, the people.
- Taylor Otwell as a steward plus a conference circuit is a distribution machine.

## Near deaths
- PHP's reputation. Laravel dragged the language back into polite conversation.

## What would finish it
- A default PHP (or not-PHP) stack that the same community loves more. Not visible.
