# Notion

Ivan Zhao, 2016. The all-in-one that is always almost too much.

## Why it lasted
- It is a Lego set: docs, databases, wikis, and a template economy.
- Startups used it as the company. That is sticky even when it is slow.

## Near deaths
- The blank page problem and the performance jokes. People still duplicate the template.
- Obsidian, Coda, and a hundred AI docs apps. Notion is adding AI to keep the default.

## What would finish it
- An AI doc that is fast and does not need you to design a schema on day one. That is the wobble.
