## Why it lasted
- It is still where news breaks and where a class of people performs being informed.
- The graph of journalists, politicians, and engineers did not actually move to one place.

## Near deaths
- The 2022 acquisition. Brand, trust, advertisers, and the name were set on fire. The timeline is still a firehose people open.
- Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon: each one was the week Twitter died. The week kept ending.

## What would finish it
- Advertisers staying gone, plus a real network effect somewhere else (Bluesky's old Twitter class, or something not invented). Currently wobbling, not down.
